User Testing

After having classmate test the product and providing feedback, our next task was to have users outside of the class to test it out. In order to properly have the user test the product we needed to record them trying it out and write down notes such as how fast they completed a task, where the struggled, what they did well, and their feedback on the app.

Before having user complete each tasks we had to create a script where it gave a sneak peak on what the app is and what they will be doing.

“Hello there! Welcome and thank you for being a part of this journey! What you have is this app called “Perfect Pitch.” This app is about creating your own guitar and bass sounds and effects all in one app. You will be given three tasks with the app provided to you. Do not worry, you are not being tested, instead you are testing to see if the app works well. We will not be able to assist you during the test because we want to see if the app works well without help, but you can speak aloud if your experience is going well or if you are struggling. You may leave the test at any time and lastly if you have any questions, feel free to ask them before you start the experience. Thank you once again for being a part of “Perfect Pitch” and we hope you enjoy your time with us!”

Before recording both users each of them needed to sign a consent that grants me permission to record them.
